I've had both happen. They both suck in their own ways.

Getting dumped definitely sucks. You feel rejected and shitty.

But dumping someone can be just as hard, just different. You feel like a total asshole. The guilt can be really terrible.

Relationships are just so hard.

Actually, the "getting dumped" part, I didn't find that hard!

For some reason it doesn't upset me at all...

Every time it happened, I actually stayed good friends with the girl!

It's funny, though... The reason I don't get pissed about it is because I tell myself "Hey it's their loss!" Trust me when I say that now, that I actually have a girl who I love going out with, the girls who I dated before look at her with envy, and me with regret

Dating is fun, getting there can be a real pain in the a$$ sometimes...

That is awesome. Glad you stayed friends with them and that you have a great girl now.

The good thing about getting dumped is that you do have the moral high ground. You didn't the other person's feelings and you get to say "their loss" :)

The girl I'm dating is driving me crazy.

It's making me want to get this little gal to keep me and my current dog company:

Blargh. I had to do that during a commercial break during my stint in the radio booth during a live show. I tried to tell her before but she insisted on coming down with me. Well one of my gripes was she always had to ignore my requests to "please not touch that" in my hobbies and activities. Lord help me if I disobeyed her requests but when SHE did it she was "being cute" when she loosened shit on my car or fucked up wiring on my electronics or, during my show, fucked up sound levels when I was hot and live-mixing stuff. So midway through the show I went to a longer commercial break and kindly told her to leave both the radio station and my life. Went better than I expected, but still some shit did go down.

She ended up banging my station manager for a bit before settling for some fat neckbeard who I also trained in the radio station. I didn't care since I also moved on and they were going after sloppy seconds. It's nice to be able to respond to guys saying "I'm banging your ex" with "yeah you got the shit I didn't want, so enjoy and keep her out of my hair"

It sucks at first but you'll get over it. Life works out like that sometimes.

ouch, I'm sorry man :/ Dating a girl who's driving you crazy sounds bad :(

thanks. it is bad. but i deal with it because i love her and the 5% of the time that it is good it's SO good

"when in doubt, get puppies!" sounds like a good motto to me :D

i'm sure my dog would be super happy. he could make the relationship work for sure. they'd both be neutered so there wouldn't be any arguments about how much sex they're having, hahahahahaha

It is for the best. Although it is hard now, in the long run both you and her will benefit. You can look for someone better suited for you, and she can look for someone that is more comparable with her. You are saving her time and you time. If it wasn't meant to be it wasn't meant to be.

Gaaaaaah. I hate doing this.

"No, uh. No offense. Not interested. Really. Please don't take i—aww, crap. Don't be sad. What?! Don't tell me what I want! FFFFUUUU—"

LOL

My gut instinct is to do it like a hand grenade throw it and hide behind something solid until it blows up and then run away. But I have been on the other side and so I try to be honest and kind and tactful. It still sucks and there is nothing that can be done about it.

geez that must have been hard to do especially at work on a break. luckily for me I was never into her so I was mostly concerned with not messing her up and making her cry or something.

thanks for taking the time to share your story.

Oh this was a college radio station so it wasn't that bad IMO. I laughed about it when it happened even. Life gets weird sometimes but it all works out. I learned a lot from her - that I despise the cutsey pretend "oooo let me help you" types.

short version.

Girl has mad crush on me. I try to just ignore it. It doesnt work. She asks me out. I feel like that is the right time to break her heart...(I am not an insensitive prick I ma just kidding) But seriously I had to just tell her I dont feel the same about her in the most tactful kind and honest truthful way I could muster.

Moral of the story is.

It sucks no matter which side of the getting dumped/telling someone you dont like them coin your are on. I feel bad but at least we now know we are both understood and hopefully she isnt pissed off which it seems she is. But hopefully she gets over it and moves on and doesnt make things awkward.
